"It didn't feel like a wedding. It just felt like fun."

Dullboys Social Co Weddings

Fun. Bold. Original.

Let's be honest.

Most wedding venues look nothing like Dullboys.

And that's exactly why I included it on this list.

Because not every couple dreams of vineyards, manicured gardens or grand ballrooms.

Some couples just want to have fun.

And if that's you, Dullboys might be one of the most unique wedding venues you'll find anywhere in New South Wales.

A Wedding Venue Unlike Anything Else

When someone says "wedding venue", you probably don't picture:

  • Mini golf
  • Ten pin bowling
  • Arcade games
  • Bumper cars
  • Pizza
  • Neon lights

But somehow, it works.

And it works really well.

The moment you walk through the doors, you can't help but smile.

It's impossible not to get excited about a place like this.

Even before the wedding starts.

The Kind Of Couple Dullboys Suits

Dullboys is perfect for couples who:

  • Want something different
  • Don't care about tradition
  • Prioritise fun over formality
  • Want guests to be entertained
  • Have young families attending
  • Love colourful, creative experiences

It's for people who aren't interested in copying someone else's wedding.

It's for people who want to create their own.

Why It's Different

This is easily the least traditional venue on my entire website.

And I mean that as a compliment.

There are no vineyards.

No luxury estates.

No country manors.

No carefully curated wedding aesthetic.

Instead, there are arcade games.

Bowling lanes.

Mini golf courses.

Pizza booths.

Neon lights.

And an atmosphere that immediately encourages people to relax and enjoy themselves.

The Wedding Day

What surprised me at this featured wedding most was how beautifully the day balanced emotion and fun.

Before the ceremony, we headed to nearby bushland for a first look.

The couple already had a child together, who was involved throughout the day.

That quiet time together amongst nature was beautiful.

Calm.

Thoughtful.

Intentional.

And only minutes away from the venue itself.

By the time we arrived at Dullboys, the serious stuff was already done.

The pressure was gone.

The ceremony was relaxed.

Everyone was smiling.

The celebrant was energetic and fun.

The atmosphere felt completely different to a traditional wedding.

There was an excitement in the air that carried through the entire day.

The Photos

One of my favourite group photos I've ever taken happened right out the front of the venue.

In fact, I believe the venue still uses it for their own marketing

After that, we simply embraced the venue for what it was.

We played mini golf.

We explored the arcade.

We sat in retro pizza booths.

We wandered through the games area.

And at no point did it feel forced.

The venue itself became part of the story.

Why I Loved Photographing Here

The fun.

That's honestly the answer.

It didn't feel like a wedding.

It just felt like fun.

There was no pressure to be elegant.

No pressure to perform.

No pressure to follow traditions that didn't matter to the couple.

Everyone was simply enjoying themselves.

As a photographer, that's a dream.

What Guests Love

There is genuinely something for everyone.

Guests can:

  • Play games
  • Bowl
  • Explore the arcade
  • Enjoy food and drinks
  • Hang out together
  • Entertain the kids

Not every guest enjoys dancing.

Not every guest enjoys sitting at a table all night.

Dullboys creates opportunities for everyone to celebrate in their own way.

The Hidden Advantage

Most couples don't realise how easy a wedding can feel when they stop trying to make it look like everyone else's.

That's what surprised me.

The day felt effortless.

Fun was built into the venue.

Nobody had to manufacture it.

My Favourite Photo Location

The bumper cars.

Without question.

Specifically underneath the neon signs.

The colours.

The lighting.

The energy.

The photos felt instantly iconic.

Not because they were technically perfect.

But because they couldn't have been taken anywhere else.

How It Photographs

Dullboys is bold.

Colourful.

Vibrant.

Unique.

Unlike many venues where photographers spend time searching for interesting backgrounds, they're everywhere here.

The venue naturally creates opportunities for original images.

Every corner offers something different.

What Photographers Need To Know

The biggest challenge is lighting.

Most of the venue relies heavily on artificial light.

Understanding:

  • Flash photography
  • White balance
  • Mixed lighting environments

makes a huge difference.

A photographer comfortable with indoor lighting will thrive here.

Who Is Dullboys Not For?

If you're looking for:

  • Privacy
  • Seclusion
  • Tradition
  • Formal elegance
  • Quiet intimate moments

there are probably better options.

Dullboys is loud.

Busy.

Playful.

And proudly different.

What Couples Often Forget

One of the best things about weddings today is that there are no rules.

You don't have to get married at a vineyard.

You don't have to get married at a country estate.

You don't even have to get married at a traditional wedding venue.

People can get married almost anywhere.

Sometimes all you have to do is ask nicely.

Final Thoughts

Dullboys is special because almost nobody expects it to be a wedding venue.

And that's exactly why it works.

It's original.

It's memorable.

And it gives couples permission to celebrate in a way that feels true to them.

Because at the end of the day, your wedding doesn't need to look like everyone else's.

It just needs to feel like yours.

Planning A Wedding That Doesn't

Look Like Everyone Else's?

Good.

Those are usually the fun ones.
